Proof of Employment and Income
Lenders may require verification of income. If proof of income is requested, lenders are typically looking at two factors – The amount you have earned and the sources of the income.
Typically needs to provide pay stubs for the last two pay periods. If it’s the beginning of the year, a W-2 from the prior year might also be requested.
Freelance / Contract Employees
If you’re a freelance or contract worker and receive multiple 1099s from several companies, most lenders will generally request to see tax returns instead.
Lenders will typically request the last two years’ tax returns.
Tip: If you have a second job or other sources of income tell your loan officer – it may be beneficial to you as the lender evaluates your application.
Proof of residence
Proof of residency may be requested if there is a discrepancy in the credit report or the address on your driver’s license does not match. Below are some of the documents you can use to prove your physical address.
Proof of insurance
All lenders will require proof of insurance for the auto. You can provide either your Insurance ID card or a declarations page from your insurance company.
